Question: How does ATP hydrolysis play a role in biological reactions (for example, glutamate + ammonia + ATP à glutamine + ADP + Pi)? These two graphs are summarizing amylase enzyme activity at a range of temperatures (left graph) and pHs (right graph). Amylase is an enzyme that breaks down starch into glucose monomers and it is found in saliva. Left, graph of amylase activity peaking at 40degC + decreasing at higher & lower temps; lowest at 50+ degrees. Right, amylase activity peaking at pH7 + decreasing at higher & lower pH; lowest at pH10+ Explain whether or not the following statement about the graphs is accurate: "Amylase activity is inhibited at a high temperature and at high pH."
