As part of your vaccine work you need to express and harvest a simple protein for production purposes. You would like to use a bacteria to mass produce the protien. You have yet to pick the bacteria you plan to use. List and briefly expand upon three characteristics you would look for in a candidate bacteria which would be beneficial to your production process.

Along with the vaccine development you are also asked to develop a blood test to identify humans infected with the zombie virus. Two types of antibodies used for detection are polyclonal and monoclonal. For each list one advantage and one disadvantage for each particular type of antibody.

As you continue to learn more about the zombie outbreak the virus appears to be a mutant version of a non-pathogenic virus. The mutation is spreading through the population at a greatly enhanced rate. You suspect the virus was intentionally engineered with a gene drive to force the mutation into the population. How does a CRISPR gene drive work?
