A study plan will help you identify where your distractors are, which take away from your study time. Dr. Michael W. Kirst explains the top 5 study distractions and how to overcome them. However, do you have personal distractions that seem to shift your focus from your studies? Sometimes, you realize you are getting distracted, but other tasks can be a habit of not wanting to focus on what is needed, or procrastination has set in.

This assignment is to help create for yourself a study plan focusing on your distractors. Make a list of items that keeps you from working on your homework. Is it your phone, friends, games, children, housework, employment, or procrastination? Make a list of anything you would consider a distraction and identity how to trigger to identify that you are becoming distracted to get your focus back on your course work. Add to your list how to remove distractions from your study area before you start. Last, how do you have a distraction-free environment?
