Question: The objective of this assignment is for students to describe the socialization of the child; focusing on the interrelationship of family, school, and community. SLO#1
Think about your own life using Bronfenbenner's Ecological Model and create your own ecological model paper. Your paper will be a high quality and deep reflection of your own childhood and the influences from each of the ecological systems: micro, meso, exo and macro (not Chrono).
This assignment should reflect college-level writing, contain few errors for spelling and grammar usage; typed, 11 or 12 font, double spaced, appropriate length. Please do NOT include the questions or directions in your paper. When describing Bronfenbrenner and/or the systems, do NOT copy and paste definitions or examples from any other source. You may quote something you are using to describe or explain, but give that author credit by providing where it came from. Otherwise, writing MUST be re-written in your own wording and original work. That is why you will be submitting to turnitin. I WILL check for originality and points are not given to copied work.

This paper will have a 6 paragraphs/sections:
Paragraph/section 1: Introduction paragraph
Paragraphs/sections 2-5: Each system will have it's own paragraph.
Paragraph/section 6: Conclusion paragraph
Introduction: Paragraph 1 - Explain who Bronfenbrenner was, the main idea of this theory, and the purpose of your paper (how you will relate your upbringing to the systems).
Think back to your earliest childhood memories and consider the following questions to help you write and analyze your own ecological model for paragraphs 2-5:
Microsystems: Paragraph 2 - First, describe the system and provide a few general examples. Next, consider the influences from each system in your childhood. Last, HOW has it impacted you during adulthood.

Who lived in your household? mom dad 2 sisters and brother
What role did your father play in your early life? working and making money to live
What role did your mother play in your early life? taking care of us, teaching us the schools homework and many more things
How many brothers and/or sisters did you have? How did they impact your relationships? 1 brother and 2 sisters love them so much without them I would not the same person I'm today
When did you begin school?
Where did you play?
In your paragraph, focus on the impact of the above factors and how it shaped you.
How did your immediate family, your early peers, and first school experience influence you?
What values, morals, beliefs were you taught (either spoken or unspoken) and by whom?

Describe your elementary school environment and culture and the relationships between these people.
What other groups were you a part of (religious, sports, scouts, cultural, etc.)
Was your neighborhood considered rural, inner city, suburban?
In your paragraph, focus on the impact of the above factors and how it shaped you.
Consider how the interactions and relationships (or lack thereof) between the people in your microsystem have influenced your childhood and current relationships.

What was the social and political climate of the era? (Politics do impact everyone, think of your freedoms afforded to you living in America, the laws that are place and the priorities of the country).

How do you feel the expectations in your macrosystem have influenced you? Do you adhere to them closely or have you deviated from the norm and why?
