Question 1: Much of the literature on parenting discusses the impact of parenting styles on adolescents' behavior outcomes. This week's materials included a video example from Roseanne. Links to an external site.Do you believe this clip shows effective parenting? Why or why not? How would you classify this parenting style?

Question 2: Today's families are largely affected by divorce, re-marriage, single parenthood, and poverty. How do you believe today's adolescents are different from past adolescents because of these factors? What parenting advice would you give to a friend with an adolescent child going through divorce?

Question 3: Today's typical parent is between 35 and 45 during their child's adolescent years. These parents may also be responsible for caring for aging parents during this time. This has created what some researchers call "the Sandwich Generation" and is associated with high levels of stress.
