Question: The study of history is the study of change of time. That is what you have been doing since August 23. You are historian apprentices, responsible for examining the reasons behind what caused a situation/idea/event to turn out the way that it did and deciding what evidence to use that best illustrates your arguments. As we have seen over the past few weeks, profound changes have occurred in religion, politics, war, and society. Yet, some historians question whether meaningful change has taken place: there is still poverty, the use of war to achieve political objectives, and the creation of an economic system that tends to favor a select few. As historians and historian apprentices, how do we make sense of this paradox? Based on the information and evidence within these chapters (12, 13, 14), how would you illustrate the validity and value of both statements?
