The idea of power has been debated since the times of the Greek Philosophers. To Machiavelli, a medieval thinker, power meant an ability of an actor to make other actors do what they would not otherwise do. Emanuel Kant added a different dimension. In his view, power had to have a purpose. it was to bring stability and world peace and support the right moral behavior. But power must not be confused with influence dominance or violence. The first is a specific dimension of power; the second is the effect, and the third, is a tool of power. of these can be used to make others do what they may be reluctant to do. All states seek power, but they seek relative, not absolute power. There is also individual power, for instance, a highly charismatic leader draws on his persona and popularity. There is also collective power, for instance, Unions wield power when they bargain as a collective.

As you can see the above covers 1. context, 2. definition, and 3. examples. All three are important in an explanation of a KT.
