Problem

Determining how to collect and utilize data during the assessment process is a key role in developing instruction to support learning. More importantly, an educator must also be aware of implicit bias that might affect the results of an assessment.

This will provide insight into the process of determining whether the assessment data is free from bias, and how to use the collected data to determine the next steps for student learning.

How do pre-k teachers form or identify an assessment that they will administer to the whole class or a group of students.

This could be based on developmental or academic skills the students are currently working on in class. Give an example of a coupld of students with areas of academic or developmental concern.

1) Description of assessment administered to pre-k students
2) Summary of the data analyzed during this time
3) Identification of 2-3 students, including a description of the academic or developmental concerns based on data.
4) Reflection on how personal bias could affect the analysis of the observational data.
