1. How do the political philosophies of Hobbes and Locke compare? How did each view human nature? Would you rather live under a government by Hobbes or Locke? Why?
2. Why did witchcraft and witch hunts flourish during the age of scientific enlightenment? What else might have encouraged them?
3. Discuss how life changed during the course of the 18th century from a largely rural, agrarian lifestyle to one more familiar to us today.
