Assignment:

The issue of a right to privacy has been in the forefront of debate with the SCOTUS 'Dobbs' decision that overturned 'Roe v Wade' and with it federal protections for women to freely and without constraint obtain an abortion. These threads do not address Roe v. Wade directly, but are implicated by it, and suggest the set of 'dominoes' that could fall next if the SCOTUS continues on this path of undermining choices that persons make for themselves, their relationships, and their bodies.

How do "personal and relational privacy interests become entwined" in Lawrence v. Texas? How does this case establish not only a liberty of one's actions in one's own home, but a "liberty of the person" generally? What is the critique against the Bowers v. Harwick case that serves as a basis for overturning and discarding it as a worthy precedent when determining the freedom of homosexual relationships? Address some of Justice Kennedy's arguments -- do you agree with them? Why?
