Discussion Post: Biological Theories
Question I: Biology based theories-Emphasis on inherited biological factors and processes.
Question II: Select this theory because I recently watched the documentary on Gabriel Fernandez, couldn't believe how this child was abused by his parents and how they abused him to death. Were they born sick in their head? Why would a child still be there and love his father? How do many other children still love their parents after abuse and neglect, trying to find an answer on how would someone think it is o.k. to do that to a child, biologically wired that way or influenced by other factors.
Question III: John Bowlby, attachment theory, "all children become emotionally attached to their caregivers, regardless of the treatment they receive from them."(Fabes,p.32). I think this is more accurate, "children develop inner working models about themselves and others, based on the kind of care they receive"(Fabes, p.32). This influences their future behavior towards themselves and others.
