The question I chose was question 20, "How do Health and Human Rights Principles Apply to Poverty Reduction?" This question falls under Section 3: Health and Human Rights in a broader Context. So a brief answer to the question is that the right for health and well-being for the sick, disabled, old age or other lack of livelihood is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The idea is too empower individuals and their communities, to weaken the sense of powerlessness and give them the entitlement that other have, which allows them to take more control of their lives. With human rights there is a sense of equalizing the distribution and exercise of power between societies and the powerless.

Additionally these international norms and actions on health and human rights affects me because it will allow me and my community to gain better access to health care which is a basic need that is limited in the United States. With reducing poverty I can see in my own personal life that their can be more opportunities open and more availability for me in society. Allowing these individuals to have economic and social rights which are things like right to health play a large role in the poverty reduction.

There are other factors that play a role in addressing the poverty reduction and helping contribution to the reduction, such as transparency, accountability, democracy, and good essential. Overall there is a large framework to poverty reduction including active and informed participation of the poor in the formulation, implementations and monitoring of strategies which may affect them, along with demanding a spectrum of approaches, including legislation, polices, and programmers.
