Briefly describe an example of an cross-cultural miscommunication that you have either participated in or observed in the workplace, at college, or in a public place.

BACKGROUND: So, the Communications Dimension becomes extremely important to people working in intercultural business, in which cross-cultural awareness emerges as key to business success.

Communication styles refer to:

  1. How societies use language, both verbal and non-verbal.
  2. The amount of information people need to receive-or share-to communicate a message.Is it brief and task-relevant or must there be background information as well?
  3. The explicitness or subtleness of the language people use.
  4. The way people use words or gestures to express feelings and display mood.
  5. The importance of harmony and saving face.
