In 250 words how would you respond to these objections. What would you use to support your claims? How do the accomplishments of Jesus point to His deity and answer questions to His authority?
The Deity of Christ as regards our Christian faith is extremely important. It is what our faith is based on, the fact that Jesus is God and that he came down to earth as a human. There are many times in our lives when we may be questioned by non-believers with accusations against the authenticity of Christ and who he truly was while here on earth. A statement that is made usually when talking about this comes from John 1:14. It says, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (King James Version online, 2024)
The argument here is that begotten means that he had a beginning and therefore this means that there is no way that He could ever be God because God has no beginning and no end. This is where the verse is taken out of context. It is here that Christians must recognize how to come to this with an answer that does not attack the person who is asking the question. We can do this by looking at the overall nature of Christ and who he is. Begotten in this context means that Christ has a father, a direct correlation from him.
A strong supporting reason that I can give that points to the deity of Christ is that throughout the bible you see people all around him who confess to the fact that Jesus is God. These people have witnessed Jesus, his character, and the person of Jesus Christ were there in the flesh with them. There are also many miracles performed and prophecies fulfilled that aid to the deity of Christ. Ultimately Jesus is fully God and was fully man, for the sole purpose of us to be able to have a relationship with him in heaven again.
