Description - Review the Youth Accountability Team (YAT) Class Action Suit document from the link below then answer the corresponding questions at the end. (I worked as a juvenile PO for Riverside County -this hurts. Yikes!!!!!)

According to your textbook, because of police discretion, curfew violation, runaway behavior, and truancy can easily be reinterpreted or relabeled as attempted burglary or attempted larceny. Hanging out or common loitering may be defined by police behaviors associated with casing homes, businesses, and automobiles as future targets for burglary and theft. These acts are sufficiently serious and provocative to bring more juveniles into the justice system, thereby widening their net.

Widening the net occurs whenever juveniles are brought into the juvenile system who would ordinarily have been dealt with by police differently prior to divestiture (Norris, Twill, and Kim, 2008).
