Case Study: The thesis of the Big Five Model is that five basic dimensions underlie all others and encompass most of the significant variation in human personality. Test scores of the Big Five traits make a very good job of predicting how people behave in a variety of real-life situations.
These are the Big Five factors:
Extraversion
A personality dimension describing someone who is sociable, gregarious, and assertive.
Agreeableness
A personality dimension that describes someone who is good-natured, cooperative, and trusting.
Conscientiousness
A personality dimension that describes someone who is responsible, dependable, persistent, and organized.
Emotional Stability
A personality dimension that characterizes someone as calm, self-confident, secure (positive) versus nervous, depressed, and insecure (negative).
Openness To Experience
A personality dimension that characterizes someone in terms of imagination, sensitivity, and curiosity.
