Write a 2 to 4 page response to the TWO feature-length films you selected and watched that were made in the 1930's. As you watch, note the plot development, characters, setting, themes, or messages included.
Paper Format
1. The paper should be 2 to 4 pages long, double-spaced, use 12-point font and have 1-inch margins.
2. Include the titles of the films you chose centered at the top of page 1.
3. In your opening paragraph provide an overview of the films' major plot points, themes, or messages. This paragraph will direct the message for the rest of your written response. Again, remember that the summary short be only one short paragraph; the rest of the paper should be an ANALYSIS of the film...
4. When analyzing a film, consider the following:
o Include how the films relate to their time period, and any interesting similarities that they might have.
o How were the characters used to represent various point of view? How did conflict arise as a result?
o How was an emotional generated by the film, through directiing, acting, editing, sound, and so on?
o How did things like the film's setting contributor to the film and the story being told?
o What was effective, and what did you think was NOT effective in the way the film was made?
o Feel free to mention anything else that came to mind as you watched the film.
