Case Study: At the center of lifelong learning is meta cognition. We practice our meta cognitiveskills when we spend time reflecting on our learning processes. In fact, when we reflect on ourlearning and the significance of information and experiences, we can deepen our understandingmuch more efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, reflective writing is an excellent learningtool because the more your instructor knows about your experiences with the learning outcomesin the course, the more they can help you improve your skills throughout the semester. This isthe second time that you will be asked to consider your own experiences as they relate to ourcourse outcomes: civic engagement, life design, argumentation, and academic skill development.The questions provided should help you craft your end of semester reflection letter.

Task: Each answer should be 6 sentence paragraphs long with being professional and detailed as well. In the form of a well-organized and well-thought out professional letter to your Seminarinstructor, develop responses to the following prompts:

Question 1: Reflect on your experience volunteering in the community and researching news articlesin our course. How did these class experiences and your reflection on them in relation toour Mapping the Future Discussions contribute to your sense of being civically engagedin your community and your sense of your personal meaning and purpose?

Question 2: Reflect on our in-class discussions and assignments for Designing your Life. How didthese class experiences contribute to you achieving your personal and professional goalsover the next five years? What are the specific steps you have already taken and will taketo achieve your goals?

Question 3: Reflect on our Mapping the Future Discussions and Taking Sides CollaborativeArgumentation sessions. How did these class experiences contribute to your ability toparticipate in class discussions and debates? Point out at least two of your mostsuccessful argumentation strategies from this experience. What would you still like toimprove?

Question 4: Reflect on your experience in our class as a whole. Rank and defend what you believe tobe your level of proficiency with college-level reading, writing, and discussion skills andexplain how your class experiences have contributed to these skills.
