She skips meals because she states "I just don't have time to stop and check my blood or eat," Her vital signs were raised, she had a temperature, and her blood sugar was 275 when she got to the ER. She was found to have cellulitis on her lower left leg as well as a somewhat significant stage 2 pressure injury during the examination. Alicia confides in the nurses during the simulation that she is having trouble adapting to the lifestyle adjustments brought on by diabetes. The concerns for this patient was her wound infection as well as not properly taking care of her diabetes diagnosis.
