Many seek refuge in neighbouring countries but others pay traffickers to take them to Europe - risking death, capture and deportation. If you were fleeing Syria for Europe, what choices would you make for you and your family? Take our journey to understand the real dilemmas the refugees face."

To start the simulation, click on the following link: You can restart the journey as many times as you like, trying out different routes. Once you feel satisfied, answer the following questions and attach your answers as a Word document:

1) How did the simulation "Syrian Journey" turn out for you? What choices did you make as a refugee? Did you end up in a refugee camp or were you able to obtain asylum and start a new life in a safe place? How did all these experiences make you feel?

2) What do you think is the best way to deal with refugee crises such as the one Europe and the US are experiencing due to civil war in Syria? How can the host countries reconcile humanitarian concerns with security concerns?
