Find a media article (blog post, newspaper article, etc) that uses or summarizes inferential statistical findings from a peer-reviewed journal (!). Discuss the information dissemination process-e.g., from article to press release to newspaper article to blog-and then read closely the original article. Use knowledge gleaned from class to explain the statistical inferences as best you can (ie, note p-values, hypotheses, and confidence intervals as appropriate). How did the media article do at explaining the findings? Is their summary accurate or misleading? Although the article may contain statistical concepts beyond the level of this class, it will most likely be based in things that we are learning. Perfection is not required, but sincere effort is. Please turn in a one-page write-up, the journal article, and the original media piece.
