Your assignment is to create a flyer to describe the expansion west in the late 1800's.
1. You may use a Word document in order to complete this assignment. (If you do not have a linoit account you may need to create a free account.)
2. Create a bulletin board about the west. Your bulletin board must contain a minimum of 5 headings with 5 photos. Use the following topics for each Heading: 1. Who moved west (Groups such as the Mormons, 49ers, etc., 2. Why people went west (Reasons such as free land, etc), and 3. What challenges people faced living in the west (Such as Indian attacks), 4. What was life like in the west (For example, settlers faced harsh conditions such as drought), and 5. What role did the government play in getting people to move west (For example, the Homestead Act passed by Congress).
Take on the role of either a Native American or White Settler. From your chosen point of view, write a speech that you could deliver to a group of people who are interested in your opinion. You will explain your understandings and feelings about the major topics from this module. Keep in mind that these people expect to hear your reasoning and adequate explanations to support your point of view. Your speech must be a minimum of 300 words. You must include these topics in your speech:
