6. At the beginning of the PBS Documentary they mention the stark differences between a Black man's reality while away at World War 1 versus one's reality back home in America. This comparison exposed a paradox for Black men...Black soldiers fought across country lines (i.e. fighting for the French) and experienced humane treatment unlike their experiences fighting for America. Unfortunately, Black soldiers were still underpaid for their work. All the while, Black laborers in America were paid better wages, while being treated poorly. If you lived during this era, how would you manage this reality?
