Problem: Reflect on Nicola Perullo's idea of the 'wisdom of taste' as a tool for better understanding and appreciating food. Have you ever come across a situation where the context (social, environmental, etc.) has changed your standards or expectations of a food you were eating? What was the situation, and how did the context change your reception of the food? How does the 'theater of meeting' that Perullo talks about change the taste of things? Conversely, have you been in a situation where you hosted or cooked for someone else and made different decisions about the food you shared because of the diet of the person you were hosting (e.g. celiacs, vegans, kosher, etc.)? How did this affect your understanding of the dish you were sharing?
