As the title of this chapter suggests, Imperial Reforms and Colonial Protests, the Crown became increasingly disconnected with the American colonists that were providing so much revenue in the form of taxes. Surely the war debt left behind by the French-Indian War was not going to be burdened alone by the King. Instead the colonists were seen as the prime targets for carrying this financial load. After a long, back and forth economic struggle with the Kings administrators, the colonists soon became disenchanted with King George and this boiled over into an all out military struggle for independence.
For this chapter, write one two page essay that details the struggles back and forth right before the Declaration of Independence. This was like a boxing match where each boxer gets in good punches and just when the opponent seems down, he comes back and also lands knock out punches. This is what your essay should be be modeled after, a boxing match. Detail all the victories on both sides leading up to the revolution. How, specifically, did the King tax the colonists and how did the colonists fight back?
