The purpose of this homework is to observe and reflect on psychosocial nursing communication with a focus on end-of-life care as well as interprofessional communication and collaboration.

This homework will require you to watch the movie WIT and then explore the concepts of death and dying and the intricate psychosocial relationship between the individual and the nurse during end of life as well explore effective psychosocial communication during end-of-life care. This movie will additionally provide examples of interprofessional communication/collaboration to discuss.

After the movie you will write a reflection to summarize your reactions and relate these tocourse learningand concepts regarding psychosocial communication, interprofessional communication/collaboration surrounding end of life care and death and dying from your readings and share your personal viewpoint on the topic.

Use the questions below as the headings for your reflection. This is informal so the use of "I statement" is acceptable.

This should be no less than 3 and no more than5 pages (excludes title page and reference page).

I. General Description of the Movie: 1-2 paragraphs

1. the main characters, major theme of the movie, and setting

II. Role of Nurse/Communication: 3-4 paragraphs

1. What role or roles did the nurse play (at least 4 roles should be described)?

2. Are the roles consistent with being a professional nurse?

3. Was the communication by the nurse professional when dealing with the client; use supportive examples from the movie to illustrate this. Describe a min of 3 styles of therapeutic communication, describe interprofessional collaboration and communication styles (min 2).

4. Support the roles/communication you describe with the literature (at least 2 different sources from scholarly journals may include 1 citation from readings).

III. Reaction to the Movie: 2-3 paragraphs

1. Was the movie difficult to watch?

2. What emotions did the main character evoke or other characters in the film; such as, her father and others?

3. How did the character change over the course of the movie? Was it realistic?

IV. Impact on Future Practice: 3-4 paragraphs

1. How would the roles that you described impact your future practice?

2. What type of communication could support a individual during end of life care as a professional nurse? How will you incorporate this into your future interactions

3. How could you enhance interprofessional collaboration based on course learning when faced with barriers similar to those in the movie?

4. Support with at least 2 different sources from scholarly journals may include 1 citation from readings.

V. Summary: 1-2 paragraphs

1. End with the main points that were covered and summarize any addition thoughts/reflections on death /dying/ and the nurse/client relationship.
