From 1529 to 1788 alone, the Ottoman Caliphate conducted 14 violent attacks against the Holy Roman Empire and conducted 7 separate violent attacks against the Republic of Venice. These violent attacks were obviously not cases of people trying to peacefully share their beliefs with others.
