Resistance, specifically resistance against enslavement, has been a central theme for the first half of this course. How did African Americans resist the restrictions placed upon them from their arrival in the Americas and beyond? What factors contribute to this desire to resist, and how did these acts of resistance both succeed and fail? Provide at least three examples of resistance from the readings. Remember, it was not just enslaved people who resisted during this period. You need to bring in at least two readings (The Journal of Slaver) and (The Code Noir/the black code 1687) to support your answer. Be specific and provide plenty of details.
