This project will show how data can be pulled from multiple web pages, show flexible programming routines, minimize screen updates, and demonstrate some mathematical functions.
The project will consist of four worksheets and one chart in one workbook. The sheets are:
• WeatherHistory - Daily weather information obtained from www.wunderground.com.
• DataPage - Used to retrieve Web pages
• WindMatrix - Identifies the captured wind information, etc.
• Animate - Animates the selected weather history
The animate worksheets "animates" the downloaded weather history using images. You should select your own unique background and action images.
You should have the following minimum background images:
• Cold weather
• Normal weather
• Hot weather
• Raining
You should have at least one action image.
From any worksheet with downloaded weather information, you should be able to run your animate macro. When this macro runs, it should:
Display this animate worksheet.
For each row of weather information on the worksheet called from:
• Display the date in the animate worksheet formula bar.
• Change the background image to indicate the daily weather. At a minimum, if the temperature is freezing or below, use the cold weather background else; if it is raining, use the raining background else; if it is above a certain temperature, use the hot weather background else; use the normal weather background.
• Slowly enough to be noticeable, but taking no more than two seconds, change the size of the action image to indicate the relative wind speed (such as 50 pixels * (1 + wind_speed / 15)) and move the action image to indicate where the wind is coming from
Upon completion of all the animation, return the focus to the original worksheet.
