Assignment:
You are the Recruitment and Selection Specialist at Dynamic Market Research, a marketing research firm which has offices throughout Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario. Due to growth in our Halifax office, the firm is now looking to hire six recent university graduates (graduated within the past 3 years) for an entry-level Marketing Analyst position (see details about the position below). You have three questions to answer:
1. How you would recruit for this position?
2. How you would select candidates from the applicant pool for this position?
3. How could your firm (Dynamic Market Research) determine, over the next year, if the selection procedures were effective in identifying the best candidates for the position?
The requirements for the Marketing Analyst position are presented below.
Marketing Analyst (Entry-level) Position
· Have or will be completing a degree or diploma in Business, Economics, or a related discipline within the current or past school year (2021-22 graduate or will graduate in 2022-23). Have a strong desire to engage in training and enhance your skill base. Also, be a creative thinker who approaches projects with curiosity and dedication.
· Be comfortable with data collection, data interpretation, and compiling information. Have proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and have a solid understanding of statistics used in marketing research. Familiarity with SPSS and R is desirable.
Be comfortable with both quantitative and qualitative research method.
· Have flexible and effective communication skills and be comfortable in an inclusive team culture that promotes diversity, collaboration, and professional development
· Be willing and able to work outside of business hours on occasion and have a valid driver's license.
