This case study assessment requires you to interpret an annual financial report of an Australian Stock Exchange listed company. In particular,you need to select a company from one of its eight industry categories. More specifically, the case study requires you to meet the following specific requirements:
Question 1. Visit the Australian stock exchange all industries, state the name of the industry groups and the industry you have selected to pick your company of interest.
Question 2. Visit the companies in the industry group, select the company and state the name of the company selected.
Question 3. Download the latest annual report of the companyand write a brief snapshot of the company. You need to write about its historical evolution, business, corporate governance, and social contributionthrough generating employment and paying taxes to the government.
Question 4. Visit the financial statements of the annual report. Present its four financial statements: a.income statement(statement of profit or loss); b.statement of changes in equity;c.statement of financial position (balance sheet); d.cash flow statement.
Question 5. Compute and interpret the key financial ratios. You can also extract the financial ratios reported in the financial analysis of the company. You need to compute the ratios for two consecutive years; theoretically interpret the intrinsic meaning of the ratios; empirically interpret the meaning of the ratios for the company; conclude on the changes of the ratios over two years.
Question 6. Conclude on the overall performance of the company over time.
