For some people, persuasion has a bad connotation. I often hear students explain that they do not like persuasion because they don't like "selling" things to other people and/or they don't like "convincing" people of anything. I challenge you to consider the following: are we not, more often than not, in a state of persuasion? From the way we present ourselves to other people, to the way we create/maintain social media accounts/profiles, etc. are these not all persuasive acts in which we are formulating people perceptions and opinions of us?
