Community pharmacies often need to adjust the inventory of the top 200 drugs based on the time of year.

For example, in the spring, patients may have a higher demand for allergy and asthma medications. In the fall, they may have a higher demand for cold and flu medications, including vaccines. Pharmacies often call these seasonal increases "fast movers" and keep them in a more convenient place for faster dispensing.

In addition to these fast movers, maintenance drugs used to treat chronic conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure, may be kept in the "fast movers" section, too.

Think about your externship and reflect on the following questions:
