Question: Write out a goal for yourself using the S.M.A.R.T. criteria by answering the bolded questions below. This may be a goal you want to work towards in your Stress Management Plan.
Specific - What is the desired result?
Measurable - How can you quantify completion or measure progress?
Achievable - What skills or resources are required?
Realistic or Relevant - Is the goal in alignment with your capabilities and values?
Time Frame Given - What is the realistic deadline?
Now try to summarize the same goal from question one, in 1-2 sentences maximum, containing all the S.M.A.R.T. information (e.g. "Every day I will take out one teaspoon of coffee from my cup, so that one month today I will have completely cut coffee out from my diet.")
Which of the strategies did you learn this week that may help you to achieve your goal? What did you learn about Bandura's success theory? How will you apply this theory to your goals?
We can use the 4 A's to help us reach our S.M.A.R.T. goal too!
List four situations that could potentially prevent you from reaching your goal, and slot them into the chart below. Which situation could you avoid? Which could you alter? Which could you adapt to? And which could you accept? Make sure to explain how you will implement the 4 A's in each situation. You should have at least one activity per the "A" category.
