Case study scenario
Your group needs to critically analyse the ethical dilemma(s) faced by Qantas.
Specifically, you are to identify and critically analyse the following:
- What are the ethical dilemmas? (think about the various stakeholder perspectives: individual vs organisational values, customer and employee vs management privacy, scholars and government/ legislation, etc.)
- Why have these problems arisen? (the root cause: arguments and counter-arguments)
- How can they be resolved? (potential resolution linked to arguments above)
Resources

• Qantas Code of Conduct and Ethics 2024
• Another Joyce legacy? Qantas' treatment of its workers inspired an attempt to overhaul the law - ABC News
• Even if Qantas is fined hundreds of millions it is likely to continue to take us for granted

• The market for virtue: why companies like Qantas are campaigning for marriage equality
Instructions
• Both the report and presentation are to be based on the case study.
• Effective case study analysis relies on a close reading of the case study and thorough research about the key issues in contemporary management literature.
• In your report do not summarise the case study. You are asked to analyse its contents, not describe them.
• It is essential to link the problems in the case study to the theories of ethical decision-making that you have learned about in class and/or in your research for this assignment.
• You need to support the arguments that you present in your report and demonstrate them in your presentation.
