Part 1: Implicit Attitude Test

There is a plethora of evidence suggesting that we hold implicit attitudes favoring some demographic groups over others. In this assignment, you will get to test some of your own implicit attitudes toward different age, gender, and racial groups.

Instructions
1. Go to the website below from Harvard University.
2. Take these three tests.

a. Age IAT
b. Gender -Career IAT
c. Disability- IAT

3. You can attach a "screenshot" of your three results in the appendix (after references.)

4. The main purpose of doing this test is for you to understand how IAT works rather than using your results to answer my questions below.

Part Two

Assignment Questions

Imagine that you are a manager in charge of hiring and promotion and "assume" that you got a high score (80 to 100) on each of the three IAT tests. Discuss the implications of this when making hiring and promotion decisions.

Question 1. What kind of discriminatory behavior can each implicit preference (age, gender, race) lead to? Support your answers from current research.

Question 2. How can we reduce these implicit biases in a specific and practical way? Support your answers from research?

Requirements

1. Format (follow the APA style)
• Title page (include the word count)
• Introduction (short introduction about the three questions)
• Section 1: Question 1
• Section 2: Question 2
• Conclusion (shot conclusion that summarizes your main findings)
• References

2. Word limit: maximum 2000 words
• From title page to references
• Please note: Include your word count on the title page
