Question 1: As future nurse educators, how can we best prepare to enter into the world of academia in a way in which we can become effective nurse educators? What can we proactively do so that as a novice educator we are prepared to support and enhance the learning of our students?

Quotation: "While novice teachers are often excited at the opportunity to contribute to the education of nursing students, they may encounter reality shock as they try to meet the many responsibilities inherent in the role of clinical faculty" (McDonald, 2018, p. 210). This quote really stood out to me because it made it very apparent the importance of having more than just passion or excitement when looking to become a future nurse educator. The role of a nurse educator is extremely important, but also challenging and needs to be taken seriously. Effective nurse educators have a responsibility to provide education to their students in a way which promotes learning (McDonald, 2018).
