The Course Capstone Project involves evaluating a public health program that addresses a public health problem in your community. The project is sustained throughout the course. You are expected to complete work on your Course Capstone Project each week and meet regularly with your learning team for peer feedback.
The product of your research and analysis will be a 2,100 to 2,800 words written report and an accompanying PowerPoint presentation in which you evaluate the performance and outcomes of a community health initiative.
As you complete your Course Capstone Project, consider these reflection questions about the program you chose to evaluate:
1. Did the program have a proper assessment conducted before its implementation to ensure its operation would meet a community health need?
2. Was the program implemented properly so that it delivered what it intended to deliver to its target population?
3. Did the program achieve its intended outcomes? Were there any unintended consequences that undermined the success of the program?
4. How can the program be made even more effective?
Task:
Complete your Course Capstone Project paper. Your paper must be a minimum of 4 pages long, not including the title page. Revise and improve on previously submitted Capstone components for the final submission. Each of the following components is required:
Explain how the evaluation was conducted. Ensure you address the following:
1. The stakeholders you might have worked with and answered to when performing and presenting the evaluation
2. A summary of the program evaluated
3. The program's objectives and goals
4. A logic model to synthesize the program elements to ensure they met the intended purpose
5. 3-5 metrics that were used to determine whether objectives, goals, and other desirable outcomes had been met
6. Answers to the evaluation questions posed
7. The evaluation methods for the program
