Case Study: Chris W. She is 50 years old and she is an artesian cheese maker referred to the county health, nursing services, home health agency by the local community center and Chris accidentally cut her hand while working with cheese making workshop a few days ago and the wound up getting infected. She hesitated to seek medical care until today, and chris are determined to manage them alone at home and declines Any suggestions for hospitalization.
She lives in a secluded area of the county with her 50-year-old husband Marc, who is a retired, carpenter and also her 75-year-old aunt Helen, who has early stage Alzheimer's. Chris and Marc have 1 Daughter who lives in a neighboring state only a few hours away so the home health agency's office is situated adjacent to the community center and a home health nurse is first meeting with Chris is at the community center clinic. The nurse discusses the situation with the healthcare providers at the clinic, and they mention that they tried to conduct a home visit for the family a few months ago at the request of a concerned neighbor, but Chris politely declined the offer, and the nurse explained to Chris that since she prefers to manage her wound at home visit her twice a day for at least a week to clean and dress the wound.
