Case Study: Given the differences between formative and summative assessment, teachers must deliberately plan when it is most effective to use each type of assessment. Formative assessment allows teachers to gauge whether students are learning what they are intended to learn during the lesson. It's usually informal and allows teachers to redirect or adjust their lesson if necessary. Summative assessment is usually done at the end of a lesson or unit and informs whether students learned what they were intended to learn.

Questions: Review this week's learning activities about assessment and technology.
