ParlaTech is US based company with a new branch in India. They have recently had issues with their performance based system.
The Conflict:
The conflict within ParlaTech has risen from the negative perception of the system in place that promotes employees to managerial positions. Some employees are frustrated to be passed up for promotion by younger employees. Older employees feel discriminated against and embarrassed to report to someone younger than them as their societal culture values respect for elders and hierarchy. They misunderstand how the performance and promotion system works and therefore perceive it as unfair.
How can Parlatech implement a performance-based system that prioritizes equity and rewarding high performance while respecting the societal culture of India.
