Question: An issue is important in Healthcare is the use of artificial intelligence in the practice of health care. The ChatGPT is a machine that would carry out practices in healthcare based on tasks and other actions it is programed for. According to Sallam (2023), concerns in 96.7% of records examined is seen when ChatGPT is used in the practice of health care (Sallam, 2023, pg.1) This concern is due to lack of simplicity in information given to patients, an inaccuracy of information given, and an inability to talk about given results with a healthcare provider. Other issues of concern include an individual's lack of support needed when receiving critical health care information. A healthcare system with a patient centered care approach is important for improved patient outcomes and the start to better patient outcomes begins with accurate information guided by concern as mentioned by Pramudita, Rahmanto & Satyawan (2023. pg. 182,184).
How can a machine carry out comprehensible, accurate, health care information while addressing a patient centered practice needed to promote healthy patient outcome?
A quote that prompts deeper thought in using artificial intelligence in healthcare from Sallam (2023) is "when stressing to use of artificial intelligence over a human person in health care, it is important to address any psychological, economical, and social consequences that could accompany that usage in the health care setting" (pg. 15).
More studies are needed to assess and evaluate the idea of using artificial intelligent within the practice of health care. Studies on the potential impact ChatGPT has on the quality and effectiveness in patient health outcomes is needed. Strict, ethical guidelines are needed as well as considering the potential risks that impact a patient's health outcome are ways to improve some of the issues (Sallam. 2023. Pg.16).
