Scenario A - Read the attached BBC Worldwide case study (Appendix 1) and answer the questions below.
After reading this scenario, the student should answer Question 1, 2 and 3
Question 1 - Discuss the change announcement made by Tom Davie, CEO of BBC Worldwide and its implementation.
1. Identify the type of organisation change the management of BBC Worldwide are proposing by referring to one of the 4 types (structure, technology, culture or human resource). Also identify if the change is radical or linear incremental or non-linear incremental.
2. Discuss how successful or not the change implementation with respect to commitment, communication and collaboration of those involved.

Question 2 - Read the attached BBC Worldwide scenario/case study and answer the question below.
Discuss how Kirstin Furber, the People Director of BBC Worlwide, led that change implementation with respect to operations, accounting, sales and marketing, human resources and risk management. Question 3 - Read the attached BBC Worldwide scenario/case study and answer the question below.
Evaluate how successfully or otherwise the BBC Worldwide management implemented the change. Cover in your answer how well the management used creativity, communication, critical thinking, data analysis and research in his plans.
Your answer also needs to discuss how well you think the management identified the problem, came up with possible solutions, decided on the actions to take and its implementation and how the implementation was monitored. Scenario B -
Question 4 - After reading scenario B below, students should answer Question 4 to 5.
Coca Cola in New Zealand manufactures and sells a range of drinks.
The company has a plan to introduce some changes to their products.
"Choice and information is at the heart of our business. If people want great taste without sugar and kilojoules, we have the drinks to meet that need.
We have made good progress, but know we can do more. This is why we are developing ambitious new actions for the years ahead. Key among these is the commitment to increase availability of smaller size packages, to offer more lower sugar and kilojoule beverages options, and to increase the access of transparent nutrition information"
Question 5 - Use scenario B, above, to answer 5.
Part A - Make up a short written statement which Coca Cola senior managers could announce to all employees (internal stakeholders) about the change to commit to increasing the availability of smaller size packages of Coca Cola products. (Note: maximum 3 sentences are required)
Part B - Design a power point presentation to orally present to customers, who are existing or are potential purchasers of Coca Cola products (external stakeholders) in class time as to how Coca Cola will change and increase the transparency of nutritional information on all product labelling. (Maximum presentation time = 3 minutes each student)

Question 6 - Use the attached BBC Worldwide scenario/case study and answer the question 6, 7 and 8 below.
Assume you are the BBC Worldwide CEO, and need to make the changes explained in the BBC Worldwide scenario.
Explain how changes could be implemented by discussing one of each for ethical, socially and culturally appropriate practise requirements to bring about the changes in the organisation. Ensure you cover your own leadership skills as well as other team members in your answer. NOTE: If evidence in the BBC Worldwide case study is not available to support your answers then search for other articles and information on BBC Worldwide to assist with your answers. (Write about 30 words +/- 10% for each of the 3 practice requirements items).
Question 7 - Use the attached BBC Worldwide scenario/case study and answer this.
Assume you are the BBC Worldwide CEO, and need to make the changes explained in the BBC Worldwide scenario.
Assume you wish to take BBC Worldwide to the next level by introducing a 6G broadband network. Explain how you (as self- motivation) will motivate your team (motivate others) to effectively achieve your change objectives.
Justify your answers. Ensure in your answer you choose any three of the following 5 items:
Setting a motivating environment, empowerment of team members, teamwork and collaboration, people growth and development or support and recognition.
Ensure you cover your own leadership skills as well as team members. Question 8 - Use the attached BBC Worldwide scenario/case study and answer this
Assume you are the BBC Worldwide CEO, and need to make the changes explained in the BBC Worldwide scenario.
Explain how you would lead and manage the impact of your changes with your BBC team to successfully achieve your objectives in relation to the 3 items - current organisational culture, value and beliefs. Justify each of your 3 items in your answer. Ensure you cover your own leadership as well as team members. NOTE: If evidence in the BBC Worldwide case study is not available to support your answers then search for other articles and information on BBC Worldwide to assist with your answers. (Write about 90 words +/- 10%).
Scenario C -
Question 9 - You are leading the academic department in one of the Private Tertiary Establishment (PTE) in Auckland, New Zealand. As a part of senior management, you always take part in strategic and risk management exercise conducted by senior management for the efficient and effective performance of the organisation. For the next senior management meeting, CEO of the company asked all the managers to suggest strategies to cope with the following challenges proposed by the current changes in New Zealand: Market competition and Technology.
NOTE: One appropriate and well-explained strategy for each challenge. Evidence or justification for each of the 2 challenges required. References to be stated where appropriate. (Write about 30 words +/- 10% for each of the 3 items).
Question 10 - If we assume the above mentioned Private Tertiary Establishment (in Q 9) wished to form a close bicultural partnership with a Maori education organisation to encourage more Maori and Pacifica students to enrol at the PTE, explain some of the changes which would need to be considered under the Treaty of Waitangi.
Discuss how the three Treaty principles of partnership, protection, and participation in the workplace would need to be addressed.
Question 11 - If we assume the above mentioned Private Tertiary Establishment (in Q 9 and 10) did form a close bi-cultural partnership with a Maori education organisation to encourage more Maori and Pacifica students to enrol at this PTE, identify one external and one internal compliance requirement for this PTE and recommend how to manage and monitor both compliances. (Write about 45 words +/- 10% for each of the 2 items).
