Within Environmental Sociology, there is a theoretical perspective called Reflexive Modernisation, which can be summarised with the following claim:

"With a better understanding of how humans and nature interact and a willingness to learn from past mistakes and misunderstandings, we can prevent such (environmental) problems from occurring again and build a more socially and environmentally sustainable future."

Using the readings attached and two sources from outside, discuss why you disagree or agree with this claim. One of the outside sources must be an academic journal article, while the other can be a journal article, blog post, etc. as long as it is from a reputable source.
