Organizations are relying on social media more than ever before to make hiring decisions. One reason is because it is often difficult to get a sense of who a person really is through interviewing alone. Afterall, applicants usually present the best possible versions of themselves in interviews. Social media use also accounts for more employee terminations than ever before, which raises serious questions about what type of speech is protected under the National Labor Relations Act and which type of speech warrants legitimate termination.

-Provide an argument about whether you believe employers should use social media to make personnel decisions (e.g., selecting applicants, promoting employees, or terminating employees).

-Then describe a specific example of how an employer might use social media to make a personnel decision. Your example should support your previous argument. Explain whether the employer's use of social media in the example is ethically and legally justified and why or why not.
