Question: WFRR did something extraordinary at the time - it brought together the intellectual property (IP) of both Disney and Warner Brothers in the same film. Intellectual property refers to the characters, ideas, visuals, logos, etc. that are owned by a company who controls and restricts how that IP is used. A modern equivalent of WFRR would be a film that merges the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the DC Universe. It has been argued by many that American filmmaking is now in the age of IP. This has lead to a drastic shift in how films are produced and what films are produced. One such example is the push towards "franchise" filmmaking (think MCU as the major example). What are your thoughts about how American filmmaking is now centered on IP? How are American audiences fixated on IP - for example, the increased tribalism over what brand one is "loyal" to? Give examples and be specific.
