Assignment: In the assignment I need to explain how a traditional ethical system can be used to solve a contemporary moral / ethical issue. I can use the traditional ethical systems, including:

Divine Command Ethics
Virtue Ethics
Natural Law Ethics
Kantian Duty Ethics
Utilitarian Ethics

Next, I need to find a moral issue that people struggle with in our times, such as illegal immigration, late-term abortion, homosexual marriage, pollution, racial profiling, etc. I need to explain why I think the issue I have chosen is of concern to people in our times, giving some background and citing informed, academically-acceptable sources for your information.

Then, I need to find the traditional ethical system that I think works best to achieve a satisfactory solution for the problem. Then use the system to solve the problem, working through the logic and principles of the system. I can not revert to own feelings, experiences, and prior views about the issue. The object of the essay is to understand how ethical systems can be used to solve problems. My prior views certainly may influence my arguments, but this assignment should not be seen as an opportunity to express my opinion.
