Project Quality Management Quality Planning, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control are all part of project quality management.
The below section explains each:
1 Planning quality Since the course Fundamentals of Project Management (PMGT-701) is introduced online, ISO 9001:2015 as a quality standard is relevant as the main principle focus of this standard is on Student satisfaction, stakeholder participation, and continued improvement. Continuous improvement of this online course for the students to have a better understanding of the subject is the major focus. Contribution of each team member will help to improve the e-learning experience of the online course in schools by considering institutional and legal aspects.
Define Project Quality
The main objective is to provide the best experience of e-learning for Fundamentals of Project Management subject to students who enroll in school by providing course resources and assessment activities. The quality management plan ensures to follow federal government quality standards i.e. copyright requirements while setting up curriculum of PMGT-701. The ISO 9001: 2015 standard will focus on student satisfaction where their expectations exceed or met. To provide a best curriculum of PMGT-701 will require contribution from all the team members i.e. project manager, team lead, subject expert, content editor, and PMI board members. Whereas, the Project Manager will closely monitor and take feedback from students
2 Measure Project Quality
Quality metrics are determined in the planning phase. Standards and measures are recognized and defined by the quality team and will be applied to all project phases to maintain the quality of the online learning for students. In this phase, quality metrics are determined by the Project manager in liaison with the quality team to maintain the quality of the course content.
The following are the quality metrics that are defined in establishing PMGT-701:
? Relevance: How a product meets the actual needs of the users. This online course is established replacing face to face classes and is designed for students to understand relevant concepts of the course.
? Performance: How well the product performs. Online materials, recorded lectures and tests should be available at a few clicks and the website should not be slow which can cause frustration to students.
? Completeness: The entire scope of the project is complete. All materials related to the course should be complete in the modules for the students to study at their own pace.
Consistency: Services will be delivered in the same way for every student. The staff will be able to access their own website version for lectures and materials
3.2 Managing Quality
3.2.1 Analyze project quality
Quality will be measured by the Team Leader by collected surveys to measure the overall course performance. The Project Manager is notified by the Team Leader based on analysis outcomes of quality check. Team leaders conduct meetings with Project Managers, Subject experts, and PMI board members to make necessary changes based on feedback and improve subject quality.
3.3 Quality Control
Quality control is a process which ensures that project quality is maintained or improved. It involves testing and inspection to find out the failure or defects which can be controlled. The Online Course on Project Management Fundamentals' quality control focuses mainly on the finished product i.e. the course, as well as appropriate expectations and results. The Project's quality performance criteria are aligned with the Canadian Education System's organizational performance standards. The quality team makes sure that all physical and performance requirements are met for each chapter, conduct audits, and help the project team with the creation or updating of all course quality documentation.. All the specified functional and performance requirements must be met for the project to succeed. By doing so, the Project Team will ensure that the product meets the high standards for student satisfaction and that future production of similar courses remains within budget and resource constraints.
