Problem: Apply the knowledge gained from this subject in a 'real life' situation. Act as if you were a consultant engaged by a local authority of some sort to prepare a report on how it might go about creating a collection on something that has local historical significance. Choose something that exists in the Bending local area. It might be almost anything that has a history in the Bendigo locality which has not already been closely researched and documented. For example, it might be a park, a hotel, a house, a factory, a school, a picture theatre, a shop or a shopping centre. Or it may be a local organization such as a service club, sporting club, gardening club or a well-established group such as a quilting group. Or it may be something else such as a public swimming pool, community garden, sculpture, park, farm, or a natural feature. It does not necessarily need to be old; it could be something that has come into existence fairly recently and is gaining historical significance. Don't tell the history of what you have chosen, although some will obviously come out in the first part of your report. The focus is on reporting how a collection might be created on that physical entity or organization (referred to here as the 'landmark').
