Scenario: You are the HR manager for a local entrepreneur who has been building his business for many years. Marcus started in hospitality and over several years of investing was able to purchase a motel franchise. Since that first purchase, he has grown his operations to include 10 hotels around Alberta in addition to her first hotel. The growth in his business has resulted in operational challenges and he is looking for your expert advice with respect to the following HR activities that are being considered to deal with two of his challenges:

1. Hiring for housekeeping positions has been very challenging; he is considering hiring an outside firm to recruit temporary foreign works (TFWs) to fill those roles.

2. He is also considering outsourcing the hotel bookings and reservation systems as well as customer complaints to reduce the costs of these functions.

Question 1: Explain three reasons why these two HR activities that Marcus is considering may be appropriate for outsourcing or not appropriate? Clearly explain each reason you have provided. Remember that you will be graded on how well you use case facts.
